PORT DOUGLAS GRAN FONDO

Fun Ride, the main event of the "Port Douglas Gran Fondo Festival" in Cairns, Australia. There are four courses: 48km, 60km, 100km, and 138km. The 100km course is very gentle, with an elevation gain of 689m, and intermediate riders should be able to handle it. The course follows the Great Barrier Reef Drive between Port Douglas and Palm Cove, then turns around and returns to Port Douglas to finish. The spectacular road lined with palm trees along the coast is completely closed for riders only. This event offers an exhilarating ride through the World Natural Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics of Queensland (the world's oldest tropical rainforest), with the wind cutting through the course.
