Finding Cool Breezes Along Kyoto’s Serene Paths
〜 Kyoto Gion & Fushimi Inari Hidden Path E-Bike Tour / 4hours 〜

A tour of forest path, Shrine & Temple trails and Kamo riverside roads in southern and eastern Kyoto

Days: 4hours
Distance:20km

Itinerary

Eastern Kyoto is the most tourist-dense area, and is also known as hell. However, that is only the famous spots. Just 500m away, there are quiet, historical paths. Unlike the “commercial” Kyoto where 99% of the people gather, the real history of Kyoto remains there.

The only tool to access it is an E-Bike.
Of course, we will visit the famous spots. But the real value of this tour is to experience with all five senses the beautiful roads that many foreigners don’t know about, but really want to see.
*This feature is presented in collaboration with “Kyoto by the Sea e-Bikes.”

Cycling along the Kamo River

First, we will cycle along the Kamo River as a form of practice. It is an easy ride even for beginners and has a nice atmosphere.

Stroll through Fushimi Inari Shrine

We will guide you on foot through the famous Senbon Torii gates and the vast shrine. If you are not interested, you can skip this part and take a more in-depth route.

Cycling through bamboo forests

The bamboo forests of Arashiyama are famous, but Kyoto has more history and many vast and mysterious bamboo forests. Instead of walking through the crowds, we will cycle through the bamboo forests recommended by local guides where there are no people.

Cycling in Sennyu-ji temple

Some temples have vast grounds and include old roads, historic bridges, schools, etc. You can ride your bike on roads that are also commonly used by local residents.

Cycling the backstreets of Gion

The center of Gion is so crowded that it’s impossible to enjoy cycling, but we’ll ride on the back streets where there are fewer people.
